Artur Carbonell (1906-1973)

Surrealistic painter, theater director and professor at the Institut del Teatre of the Diputació de Barcelona. Born in Sitges, son of Pere Carbonell i Mestre, who was a merchant and later became mayor of Sitges. He showed his works in many exhibitions, he published his drawings in local magazines and directed several theater plays, his productions and variety shows were highly celebrated in Sitges and Barcelona.
