Josep Carbonell i Gener (1897-1979)

Journalist, historian, connoisseur of the Occitan culture, he promoted and directed L’Amic de les Arts, which became one of the best art magazines throughout the country. Author of several books such as “Sitges la Real”, “Revolució Catalanista”, “Esquema històric dels sis anys napoleònics a Sitges” … in his honor, since 1982, in Sitges awards high school and univesity students with the “Josep Carbonell i Gener” prize.
