Procession In Honour Of Sant Bartomeu – Festa Major Sitges 2025

19:30h SANT BARTOMEU’S PROCESSION

Procession of the tabernacle of Sant Bartomeu through the streets and squares of the town, presided over by the parish priest, Mn. Rafael Vilaplana Moltó, with the attendance of the Honourable Ajuntament.
Accompanied by the traditional dances, grallers, and the Agrupació Musical Suburband, as well as all Sitgetans who wish to join.
The parish banner and the tabernacle of Sant Bartomeu are carried by the Cos de Portants de Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla.
Mr. Joan Pros i Borràs has been appointed as Pendonista of the Flag of Sant Bartomeu, accompanied by the cordon-bearers Mr. Joan Pros i Mirabent and Mr. Xavier Canals i Pedrol.

Route: Baluard, Fonollar, Sant Joan, Davallada, Barcelona, Santiago Rusiñol, Jesús, Sant Bartomeu, Sant Gaudenci (Quiet Section), Sant Francesc, Cap de la Vila, Parellades, Bonaire, pg. de la Ribera, Nou, Major, pl. Ajuntament and Baluard.

Before the Procession reaches the Passeig, the Cobla Sitgetana performs several sardanes. Then, Els Gegants de Sitges, by maestro Tomàs Gil, and La Processó de Sant Bartomeu, by maestro Antoni Català i Vidal, are played.
The town’s patron saint is honored with salutes of morterets and ringing of bells as the religious entourage passes through the Passeig.
