The Acting Department, the MA in Creative Performance, in collaboration with the Consortium of the Sitges Museums, together with the new partnerships of Mise en Abyme International Journal and IDEA, proudly presents the 5th edition of CAMINS ALTERNATIUS | ALTERNATIVE PATHS | CAMINOS ALTERNATIVOS. This unique One-Day Performance and Live Arts Festival and Exhibition is held annually on the occasion of International Museum Day.
The 2025 event will take place at the Fundació Stämpfli in Sitges on Sunday, May 18th, from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm.
In its commitment to fostering creativity within site-specific and site-responsive contexts, CAMINS ALTERNATIUS offers an inspiring platform for emerging talents as well as internationally recognized artists. Through durational performances, live actions, happenings, movement pieces, street arts, and interactive installations, the artists establish dynamic dialogues with the physical spaces and the artistic heritage of the Fundació Stämpfli.
Artists from across several Countries will be presenting original works created in direct conversation with the museum’s environment and collection. Among them are Artilia Panagiotidou and Fríða Katrín Bessadóttir, Elizabeth Hanley, Archie Turnbull, Nare Hakobyan, and Armando Rotondi whose pieces explore a wide spectrum of performative languages.
This year, CAMINS ALTERNATIUS joins the European Platform FestivalFinder.eu, and proudly celebrates the recognition received in its previous edition with the prestigious Remarkable Arts Festival label, awarded by EFFE (Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe) supported by the European Union.
The event is curated under the artistic direction of Armando Rotondi, with Martin Lewton as script consultant.
