The Sitges Carnival 2026 will take place from February 7 with the presentation of the Queen of the Sitges Carnival 2026 and, above all, from February 12 with the Arribo of HM Carnestoltes, Fat Thursday, and will end on Wednesday, February 18, with the Burial of His Majesty King Carnestoltes (Ash Wednesday).
The Sitges Carnival 2026 is celebrated with parades, processions, parties, and a multitude of events and activities that make the Sitges Carnival one of the 10 best in the world.

The exhibition reviews this historical journey that has turned the Sitges Carnival into a true benchmark.

19 h Commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the return of Carnival to the streets by El Retiro
El Retiro Gardens
In 1976, after almost 40 years of Carnival being banned by the Franco dictatorship, El Retiro brought the celebration back to the streets by organizing a parade through the streets of Sitges with a float and several costumed groups.
This event marked the first steps toward the beginning of the Carnival of Democracy and the current model of celebration.

On February 12, La Fragata will become the stage where the battle for the future of energy will be fought. Amid costumes, music, and color, opposing forces will clash and Sitges will determine the fate of the Universe.
After the arrival, Carnestoltes and his entourage will head to the Town Hall together with the Carnival Queen. His Majesty will deliver the traditional Predicot, full of satire, irony, and Carnival spirit, from the balcony of the Casa de la Vila.

His Majesty Carnestoltes I and the Carnival Queen, together with their entourages, will visit schools, municipal nurseries, and senior centers to bring Carnival to every corner of the town.
They invite all children to prepare costumes and decorate classrooms and school centers.

From the epicenter of our town begins the parade for the most nostalgic lovers of our beloved Carnival: the Rua de Antes!
Dress up with the first thing you find at home and take to the streets.
The event will begin with music by Nyora Records, where the occupation of the seaside public space will have only one purpose: celebration and mayhem.
After the usual visit by His Majesty Carnestoltes and the Carnival Queen, the Rua de Antes will begin, livened up by Markatú, Tropical Sound, and LolaVan.

The category fardo Carnival groups will liven up the event with shows, fun, and great prizes.
Beforehand, the Rua de les Estrelles will take place, with the following route: Àngel Vidal, Santiago Rusiñol, Jesús, Illa de Cuba, Sant Gaudenci, and Sant Francesc, accompanied by the Tropical Sound brass band.

12 h Casino Prado – Start of the race
Before the start, the beds will arrive at the Parc Tancat on Prado Street, be placed on the starting grid, and inspected by the jury.
Right at noon, the much-anticipated and crazy Disguised Bed Race will begin from the doors of the Casino Prado.
The parade will be led by the Carnival Queen and the Children’s Queen, who will close the route together with His Majesty Carnestoltes, with entertainment by the BKT Brass Band.
At the end of the race, the winning groups will be awarded new and fun prizes.
