Corpus Sitges 2024
From May 25th to June 9th, 2024
The Corpus of Sitges was declared a National Heritage Festival of national interest in May 2023. This declaration is the highest recognition granted by the Government of Catalonia. The Corpus of Sitges is a heritage and festive element of extraordinary relevance with a remote origin and a minimum trajectory of 100 years of uninterrupted celebrations, it is an identity and festive reference of national scope.
CORPUS SITGES 2024 – PROGRAMME
This year, from May 25th to June 9th, 2024, Sitges will once again be imbued with the essence of one of the most emblematic festivities of the traditional and cultural calendar of Sitges.
Sunday, June 2nd, 2024 is the day of the flower carpets on the streets, the decoration of the courtyards, and the traditional “ou com balla” (dancing egg).
Hospital de Sant Joan is in charge of making the carpet and the altar at Cap de la Vila within the program of its 700th anniversary.
Montse Curtiada is the announcer (Pregonera) of the Sitges Corpus 2024, a person closely linked to the Corpus who was president of the Commission between 2010 and 2013. Curtiada will deliver the “Pregó del Clavell” (Clavel Proclamation) in another emblematic space of Sitges, the Racó de la Calma.
Joan Hernàndez Matas will be the standard-bearer of the Minerva, a reference figure in the carpet of the first section of Jesús Street. He is an example of a family that has led the making of a flower carpet, maintains it, and passes on this tradition to the new generations.
The author of this year’s poster and image of the Corpus is Mar Mestres Ramon, an artist linked to the carpet of the third section of Jesús Street, who wanted to capture the joy and excitement of the celebration.
The Corpus of Sitges is a festival with six centuries of history and a high level of popular participation, this year creating 31 flower carpets on the streets of Sitges and the subsequent passage of the Procession.

During the Corpus celebration, many patios and other spaces are decorated.
The streets are hung with banners, and from the 16th May, banners can be bought at 15€ to decorate balconies and windows. Kindly refer to the points of sale indicated at the beginning of this programme.

Presentation of the programme of events of the Corpus of Sitges 2024, the poster, and the main protagonists.
Saturday, May 25th
18:00h FESTIVAL OF THE SITGES FESTIVITIES GAME DAY
Location: Hort de Can Falç.
Open day for everyone, where the new board game about the Sitges festivities will be presented. The day will conclude with a final competition to choose the participant who demonstrates knowing more about the Sitges festivals.
Sunday, May 26th
18:30h-20:30h ARTISTIC-FLOWER WORKSHOP: PRINT & TOAST
Location: Terraces of the Maricel Palace
We will learn to use different types of flowers to print a “tote bag” fabric bag, each making their own design and artistic composition. At the same time, we will taste a gin and tonic prepared with the gin of the Corpus of Sitges, distilled from flowers.
Limited capacity activity. It is necessary to purchase a ticket at the Museums of Sitges box office or their website.
Price: 10 euros. Includes material, tote bag, and drink.

18:00h OPENING OF THE 84th NATIONAL CARNATION EXHIBITION
Location: Gardens of the Sant Joan Baptista Hospital in Sitges. C. Cardenal Vidal i Barraquer, 2.
In the gardens of the Sant Joan Baptista Hospital in Sitges, inauguration of the National Carnation Exhibition, with the participation of historian Alba Gràcia, who will discuss the parallels between caring for the vineyards to make Malvasia and the cultivation of carnations. We will conclude the inauguration with a glass of Malvasia, while visiting the carnations participating in the exhibition.

Recitation of the Carnation Proclamation, to be delivered by Montse Curtiada i López, the proclaimer of the 2024 Corpus.

11:00h VISIT OF THE JURY TO JUDGE FAÇADES, BALCONIES AND WINDOWS
The jury, accompanied to the music by the Apocadixie Cotton Pickers, will visit the façades, balconies and windows in the streets of the centre of Sitges for their evaluation.
Sunday 9th June
19:30h OFFICIAL PRIZE-GIVING CEREMONY AND CLOSING CEREMONY OF CORPUS 2024
Location: Gardens of the Hospital de Sant Joan Baptista
After the closing ceremony, gathering at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Vinyet, to make the traditional collective offering of carnations to the Virgin. The “train” will take us to the Vinyet, while Apocadixie plays live music.
