Corpus Sitges 2025
From June 10 to June 29, 2025
Corpus Christi in Sitges was declared a Heritage Festival of National Interest in May 2023.
This declaration is the highest recognition awarded by the Government of Catalonia.
Corpus Christi in Sitges is a cultural and festive heritage event of extraordinary importance, with ancient origins and a continuous tradition of at least 100 years of celebrations. It is a national reference in both identity and festivity.
CORPUS SITGES 2025 – PROGRAM
From June 10 to 29, 2025, Sitges will once again be filled with the essence of one of the most iconic festivities in its traditional and cultural calendar.
Sunday, June 22, 2025, is the day of the flower carpets along the streets, the decoration of courtyards, and the traditional “ou com balla” (dancing egg).
Corpus Christi in Sitges is a celebration with six centuries of history and great community involvement, with the creation of 31 flower carpets in the streets and the passage of the traditional procession.

During the Corpus celebrations in Sitges, courtyards and various spaces are traditionally decorated.
Streets are adorned with banners. For this purpose, Corpus Sitges offers additional banners for sale to decorate balconies and windows.

Tuesday, June 10
7:30 PM – PRESENTATION OF THE 2025 CORPUS FESTIVAL
Location: Mercat Vell. Plaça de l’Ajuntament, s/n
Presentation of the programme of events, the official poster, and the main figures of the festival.
Sunday, June 15
6:30 PM – 3rd CORPUS DAY: “GEGANTS I CORPUS: UN VINCLE HISTÒRIC” (GIANTS AND CORPUS: A HISTORIC LINK)
Location: Mercat Vell. Plaça de l’Ajuntament, s/n
The folklorist and writer Amadeu Carbó, with a long trajectory in popular culture research and publications (including on Corpus), will explain the historical connection between giants and the Corpus celebration, highlighting the uniqueness of Sitges’ Corpus.
Next, the history of Sitges’ giants—both the old and new pairs—and their link to Corpus will be presented.
The event will close with a glass of cava for all attendees.
Organized by: Corpus Commission and Grup d’Estudis Sitgetans.
8:00 PM – PRESENTATION OF THE RENOVATED “NEW” GEGANTS DE LA VILA FOR THEIR 50TH ANNIVERSARY
Location: Plaça de l’Ajuntament, s/n
The “new” Gegants de la Vila celebrate the 50th anniversary of their Corpus debut. As back then, they will be presented in Plaça de l’Ajuntament—renovated, with new costumes, and accompanied by the “old” Gegants de la Vila—to perform some dances together.
Friday, June 20
6:00 PM – OPENING OF THE 85th NATIONAL CARNATION EXHIBITION
Location: Gardens of the Sant Joan Baptista Hospital of Sitges. Cardenal Vidal i Barraquer St., 2.
Inauguration of the National Carnation Exhibition, followed by a glass of Malvasia and a visit to the participating floral displays.
10:00 PM EL PREGÓ DEL CLAVELL (Carnation proclamation)

After Mass, solemn exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in its chapel and a vigil of prayer.
10:00 PM – “FLOWERS, TRADITION AND FESTIVITY” GUIDED TOUR OF THE FLOWER CARPETS AND OTHER CORPUS SPACES
Meeting point: entrance to the gardens of the Societat Recreativa El Retiro (Àngel Vidal St.).
Led by AGIS Sitges Guides. After the tour, you may join in the making of a floral carpet.
From 10:00 PM onwards – START OF DRAWING DESIGNS FOR THE FLOWER CARPETS AND CARNATION CUTTING
Artists begin sketching the carpets on the streets while carnations are cut and prepared. Open to everyone.

Free entrance to see the traditional “Ou com Balla” (to see the egg dancing on the spout.)
12:00 PM – HOT CHOCOLATE & CHILDREN’S ACTIVITY: SUPER BUBBLES
Location: Hort de Can Falç
Once the carpets are finished, hot chocolate will be offered to all participating children.
The “Super Bubbles” activity features giant soap bubbles.

After the procession, the 4 pairs of giants will accompany the authorities to the Town Hall for the traditional final dance in the square.
To be followed by the traditional “Refresco de Corpus” offered by the Sitges Town Hall and open to everyone.

EXHIBITION DATES: From June 27 to July 27.
The awards will be presented during the Closing Ceremony of Corpus 2025.
Saturday, June 28
11:00 AM – VISIT OF THE JURY FOR THE 65th CONTEST OF FACADES, BALCONIES, AND WINDOWS
Through the streets of central Sitges, the jury accompanied to the music by the Apocadixie, will visit the participating facades, balconies, and windows to evaluate them.
The verdict will be announced during the Closing Ceremony of Corpus 2025.
Sunday, June 29
7:30 PM – OFFICIAL AWARDS CEREMONY AND CLOSING OF CORPUS 2025
Location: Gardens of the Sant Joan Baptista Hospital of Sitges. Carrer Cardenal Vidal i Barraquer, 2.
Once the Closing Ceremony is finished, gathering at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Vinyet for the traditional collective offering of carnations to the Virgin.
The little train (El Trenet) will take us to the Vinyet, while enjoying the music of Apocadixie.
