“Romaria” means pilgrimage or journey in Portuguese and represents above all the different styles and origins of the repertoire performed by the ensemble. From classical to bossa nova and other more experimental styles, their program includes music by Manuel de Falla, I. Albéniz, Joaquín Rodrigo, among others, as well as Brazilian music influenced by classical and African styles composed by various composers such as H. Villa-Lobos or Marlos Nobre.

Mariana Carrilho is a Mozambican mezzo-soprano and visual artist recognized for her liveliness on stage. This season, she is a guest soloist in W. A. Mozart’s Coronation Mass as part of the VII Masnou Music Festival. She has also been one of the artists selected by Iberescena for the residency of African songs and experimental theater convened by the Laboratory of Performing Arts of Lisbon.

She has toured as a guest soloist with the Barcelona Guitar Orchestra performing El Amor Brujo and the Spanish Popular Songs by Manuel de Falla at the Théâtre de Bastia and other venues in Corsica. Her recitals “El vent bufa del sud” at the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona and “Fascinació” at the Pedralbes Monastery stand out.

Roland Moles is a young Andorran guitarist based in Barcelona. He has been part of the renowned Barcelona Guitar Orchestra since 2021, with whom he has performed at the Palau de la Música Catalana, the “Rencontres Musicales de Mediterranée” festival, and various guitar festivals and venues in Catalonia, such as the International Guitar Festival of Vallirana or the La Massa Theater in Vilassar de Dalt. His chamber music performances include collaborations with cellist Jordi Albelda and the Young National Chamber Orchestra of Andorra.

His guitar journey began at the La Llacuna Music Institute with teachers Lluís Casahuga, David Sanz, and David Font. He completed the last two years of his professional degree at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona under the tutelage of Asun Sabater. During his training, he had the great opportunity to perfect his guitar technique with masters such as Zoran Dukic and David Russell, Antonio Duro, and Carlos González.
